There are three things to consider when choosing a home builder. 1. Construction quality: Does the builder use the latest technology in new construction? Do they use better than average building materials? Do they cut any corners? 2. Value: What you get for your money. Does the home come with upgrades other builders have you pay extra for? What is the final purchase price on everything you want in the home (compared to other builders)? Is the quality of construction better than other builders? 3. Customer Service: (this is a biggie) How well does the builder communicate with you through out the entire builder process? Do they give you regular updates on the build process? Generally speaking, no. If you want the proper representation when buying new construction, make sure your Realtor does not work for the builder. This will ensure they can look after your best interests.
